Seville
Overview
Seville is the vibrant capital of Andalusia: a city full of history, monuments, flamenco atmosphere and squares that stay lively until late in the evening. Here you can feel the soul of Spain in every street, every square and every building.
The city has a rich history as a Moorish capital, as the starting point of the Spanish conquest of the Americas and as the centre of Spain’s gold trade. That layered past is visible everywhere — from the Moorish architecture of the Alcázar to the Gothic splendour of the largest cathedral in Europe. Seville is grand and intimate at the same time, and never fails to surprise its visitors.
What can you do here?
Seville is packed with impressive sights — from historic monuments to charming neighbourhoods and beautiful parks. The three absolute highlights are the Cathedral with La Giralda, the Real Alcázar and the Plaza de España. The atmospheric Barrio Santa Cruz, the Torre del Oro on the Guadalquivir and the lively tapas culture are also well worth a visit.
Book the main monuments in advance — especially in high season, tickets sell out quickly.
Tickets & booking
Seville has many iconic sights that tend to get very busy, so it’s wise to book your tickets in advance, especially for the Cathedral and the Alcázar. You can choose single tickets or combined tickets that cover several attractions.
